Dripping Wet competed in both Saturday and Sunday racing in the Southern
80 this year in 8 litre inboard expert class.

Saturday Race

After some minor starting difficulties on the first leg, the return leg saw the boys improve their result by 2 places which built their confidence for the start of the Sunday race. Richard Manning, owner/driver said "we were really happy with the return leg as the boat and skiers, Kayne Partridge and Scott Dunn went really well".

Sunday Race

After a good start, unfortunately only 13 mins into the race, mechanical problems in the stern drive forced an early retirement for Dripping Wet. Richard Manning said "it's disappointing to come all this way and not finish the race and also for Kayne and Scott as I know they have been training hard but as all competitors would agree, that's ski racing and we will now move forward and work on our boat issues and look forward to competing in the next race.

Southern 80 is a great race and we know we will be back again in 2009. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the crew, Garry Partridge our team captain and observer, Kayne Partridge and Scott Dunn our skiers, and Jarred Jarvis our mechanic, they have all been a great support.
